His robes fit awkwardly, his shoes pinched his toes, his hair was over his face and he just generally felt like the biggest prat going. Which he supposed he probably was. He had never really spoken properly to Edgar but they’d somehow ended up being lumped together for the dance and if he wasn’t a Slytherin Rabastan was sure he’d end up apologising for that exact fact. He wasn’t really good company and no way in hell would he be Bones’ first choice for this thing. Plus it was Rab’s birthday and he was hyper aware of flying inanimate-charmed-animate objects flying his way as Rod had been suspiciously absent. Never a good thing.
Rab chewed the inside of his mouth clenching and unclenching his toes as he waited by The Great Hall, they just had to be seen going in together right? There was a 0% chance that Edgar was going to actually ask to dance and although Rab of course knew how to dance he never really enjoyed it. And also he was kind of worried that with these shoes pinching so much one misplaced foot would make him lose them completely. He tried in vain to stand straight and tall, confident when he really felt like going somewhere quiet downing two bottles of fire whiskey and smoking gillyweed until he fell asleep. Where was Antonin and his shenanigans when you needed him.
Edgar, of course, was dressed up impeccably. He made sure his robes were well fitted and clean for the dance, which he didn’t really wish to go to in the first place. Of course, he’d rather be accompanying Gwenog, but for some strange reason he was paired with a Lestrange he barely knew.
Finding the man by the Great Hall, Edgar approached. His ran his eyes over the boy, wondering how he felt about this whole debacle.
“Edgar Bones,” he introduced himself, “I assume you’re Rabastan Lestrange?”
Regulus, Rabastan, Sirius:
Who wants to start and who wants me to start? I’m gonna take a shower and come back and start some of them if no one wants to.

A fair point. I still wish to emphasize how much of an awful unfair person you are. <3I’m well, been flying a lot. Not much to report.
I’m simply going about my business. Just in fewer clothes than are normally considered appropriate. I exercise my right to tempt you, Gwenog.
How is the old broomstick doing? You haven’t ridden it in a while, glad to see you’re back on it.

Has anyone seen Sturgis? I miss him.
Like it, reply, whatever.
All I have done for the past two days is watch the Harry Potter movies. I got the complete DVD collection for Christmas and thought it would...
